BELTHANGADY, KARNATAKA — EST. 2004
Where Every Wound is Met with Compassion of Jesus Christ Jyothi Hospital — A light in the lives of those who need healing the most. Twenty-two years ago, the sick poor of Belthangady they lived in the shadows of illness with no access to proper care with little hope.
That changed in 2004. Moved by the suffering he witnessed, His Excellency Mar. Lawrence Mukkuzhy called upon the Sisters of the Destitute to bring healing to this forgotten corner of Karnataka. They answered — not with hesitation, but with heart.“To see God in the sufferings” — these words are not just a motto. They are a promise lived out in every ward, every consultation, every hand held in the hardest of moments. Jyothi — meaning light — is exactly that. For the rural poor, the marginalised, and the vulnerable, this hospital has been a beacon for 22+ years. Not just treating illness, but restoring dignity. Not just healing bodies, but renewing hope.
